Prof Qiang Zhu has obtained his Dr.-Ing. degree in Materials Science from the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany in 1994. After short worked in the same university, he came to the UK to work for University of Sheffield, University of Cambridge and Cummins Turbo Technologies Ltd UK until September 2010. He then moved to the General Research Institute for Nonferrous Metals (Beijing, China) as Vice Chief Engineer and chief scientist. Since 2016 he works as Chair Professor for the Southern University of Science and Technology (Shenzhen, China). Professor Zhu’s R&D activities involve development of light metals and superalloys, their forming processing technologies and mechanical characterization. His current R&D interests focus on semi-solid processing of aluminum alloys, additive manufacturing (3D printing) of light metals, superalloys, steels and titanium alloys, failure analysis and fracture mechanics, simulation and modelling of forming processes etc. He has published over 200 papers and 60 patents. Among the numerous honors and awards, he has received the outstanding contribution to semi solid processing of alloys and composites (2018), the 2009 international award on Squeeze/semi solid casting from the North America Die Casting Association and two Steve Pawer awards from Cummins Turbo Technologies (2014, 2016), 1st Prize of Technology Innovation Award from the China Non-Ferrous Metal Association and 1st Prize of Science and Shenzhen Technology Progress Award.

Dr. Hicham Es-soufi is a Professor at the National Higher School of Chemistry (NHSC), Ibn Tofail University, Kenitra, Morocco. He has also served as the Director of Studies and Professor at the Higher School of Engineering, ESGCNT, Meknès, Morocco. Dr. Es-soufi is a member of the editorial board for three international scientific journals and has peer-reviewed for over 50 international scientific journals. His primary research focus lies in the research and development of new materials, with a particular emphasis on studying the physical-chemistry of materials for applications in electrochemical energy storage, electrostatic energy storage, wastewater treatment, corrosion, and gamma radiation shielding. To date, Dr. Es-soufi has authored more than 40 publications in international scientific journals.

Honggui LI received his B.S. degree in Electronic Science and Technology from Yangzhou University and his Ph.D. degree in Mechatronics Engineering from Nanjing University of Science and Technology. He is a senior member of the Chinese Institute of Electronics. He was a post-doctoral fellow and visiting scholar at Institute Supariouir ectronique de Paris for one year. He is an Associate Professor of Electronic Science and Technology and responsible for postgraduate program of Electronic Science and Technology at Yangzhou University. As a reviewer for some international journals, he is the author of more than 30 refereed journal and conference articles. He is TPC member and session chair of some international conferences. His current research interests include artificial intelligence, deep learning, machine learning, computer vision, and embedded computing.

Dr.-Ing. Wilderich Heising is a Partner and Associate Director at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG). He is a core member of BCG's Innovation Center for Operations and very active in BCG's Health Care, Industrial Goods and Consumer Products practice areas. His focus at BCG is on advanced manufacturing and supply chain topics such as additive manufacturing, 3D printing, digitalization, the factory of the future, Industry 4.0, supply chain of the future as well as on manufacturing and distribution strategy and network optimization. He leads the additive manufacturing topic as well as the network strategy and optimization topic for BCG globally. He holds a Ph.D. in engineering from the Technical University of Berlin.

Dr. Yoseph Bar-Cohen, JPL, is a Senior Research Scientist, the supervisor of the Electroactive Technologies Group (x355N), as well as in-charge of the Nondestructive Evaluation and Advance Actuators (NDEAA) Lab that he established in 1991. He received his Ph. D. in Physics (1979) and M.Sc. in Materials Science (1973) from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel. He is a physicist specializing in electroactive materials/mechanisms (including sample handling technologies), biomimetics and ultrasonic Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE). He is listed as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in NDE as well as Piezoelectric Actuators and Sensors on the JPL’s Procurement Quality Assurance List. Under his leadership, many innovative concepts and mechanisms were initiated, analytically modeled, simulated, developed, and experimentally tested for planetary exploration, commercial, medical, and other applications. He made two notable discoveries of ultrasonic wave phenomena in composite materials: the polar backscattering (1979) and the leaky Lamb waves (LLW) (1983). From Nov. 2009 to Sept. 2011, he served as the Chair of the JPL’s Senior Research Scientists Council. Dr. Bar-Cohen is a Fellow of two technical societies: The International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE) and the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT).

Peng,Lian-Mao received his B.S. in Physical Electronics from Peking University in 1982 and his Ph.D in Physics from Arizona State University in 1988, and spent the following six years working at the University of Oxford. He returned to China in 1995, first as a senior research scientist at the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and then joined the faculty of the Peking University and became the Yangzi Professor of Nanoscale Science and Technology in 1999, Director of the Key Laboratory for the Physics and Chemistry of Nanodevices in 2004, Head of the Department of Electronics in 2007, and Director of the Centre for Carbon based Nanoelectronics in 2015. His current research focuses on carbon-based high performance electronic and optoelectronic devices, and nanostructured photoelectrode materials and solar cells. He has published over 300 research papers (www.researcherid.com/rid/E-2089-2011), and a book entitled “High-energy electron diffraction and microscopy” (1994, Oxford University). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics, UK and an Associate Editor for the Journal of Applied Physics. He served in the Commission on Electron Diffraction, IUCr, first as consultant in 2001, formal member in 2004, and then the chair in 2011. He received numerous awards, including 1990 IFSEM (International Federation of Societies for Electron Microscopy) Presidential Scholar; 1998 Qiu Shi Prize for Outstanding Young Scientist; 2003 Lee Hsun Lecture Award, Institute of Metal; 2009 Lin Zhao Qian Award, Chinese Electron Microscopy Society; 2011 Top 10 Science Advances, China; The 2010 State National Science Award, for “Studies on the fundamentals of quantitative electron microscopy and nanostructured titanium oxide”; and The 2016 State National Science Award, for project on “Electronic devices based on carbon-based nano materials”.

Evgenia Fronimaki holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration, a M.Sc. in Tourism Planning, Management and Policy, a MBA (specialization track in Production and Operations Management) and a PhD degree on Operations Management from the University of the Aegean. Her PhD title was “From smart devices to smart manufacturing. Redesigning operations management through 3D printing technology (additive manufacturing)” and her research was funded by the Scholarship Program “Hypatia” of the University of the Aegean. She teaches as an Adjunct lecturer in the Undergraduate Study Program of the Department of Business Administration of the University of the Aegean the courses “Data Analysis”, “Business processes and 3D printing architecture” and “Decision Theory and Game Theory” as well as in the Master in Business Administration - Executive M.B.A. of the University of the Aegean the course “Operations Management - Industry 4.0”. She is also a Collaborating Faculty Member at the Hellenic Open University in the Undergraduate Study Program “Business Administration” in the course [DEO11] “Introduction to Business Administration”. Her fields of interest include additive manufacturing (3D printing), operations management and operation research. Part of her research work has been published in international refereed academic journals or presented in international refereed conferences. She is a member of the Quantitative Methods Laboratory of the Department of Business Administration of the University of the Aegean. She participates as a researcher in the Erasmus+ program, entitled “Overcoming Disabilities and Enforce Social Inclusion via 3D printing”, which is funded by the European Union. She has also participated in the Erasmus+ programs “3D printing technology aims students understanding maths and recycling procedure” and “3D Printing: a Cultural accelerator for Education”, which have already been fulfilled in 2022 and 2023 respectively and funded by the European Union.
